Welcome
Sandra Arballo recently joined ANN’s board of directors. Please join us in welcoming her!
Below is a little bit of Sandra’s personal background in her own words.
Hi! My name is Sandra Arballo.
I moved to Las Vegas 22 years ago as a newly divorced, single mother of two looking for a better job. Little did I know, when I made that move, that I would eventually find my dream job at a great non-profit organization! Clark County Legal Services, as it was formerly known, had a staff of thirty when I started as an assistant to the legal director in 2006. As the organization grew, I grew with it, taking on additional responsibilities and registering for online classes. Eventually, after studying and earning my certification in Human Resources, I became the first Human Resources Director at the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, Inc. (as it is now known).
Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada currently employs 156 full-time employees, which includes 78 attorneys, 78 support staff, and 20 part-time/volunteers. With my wonderful young adult children out of college and on their own, my son working in the medical field at an organ donation center, and my daughter working in the social media field, I find myself an empty nester in a new and exciting phase of my life. With my traveling, local theater and movie theater visits temporarily on hold due to COVID, I have found myself discovering and enjoying new hobbies like gardening, healthy plant-based cooking, hiking, and road trips to little known and unknown places in Nevada like the Temple Of Goddess and Valley of Fire State Park. On my list next, is the Fly Ranch Geyser.

We are excited to welcome Sandra into the ANN community and look forward to her contributions on the ANN board. We also have a couple of more seats available at the moment as we strategically expand our board. Please let us know if you are interested in a board role or if you know of someone you would like to nominate. We are particularly interested in rural and northern NV exposure at the moment to ensure a balanced mix of representation for the state of Nevada.
