Approval
AB 60 was approved by Nevada Governor Brian Sandoval on May 28, 2013. It was passed by the Assembly on April 16 (Yeas: 25, Nays: 15, Excused: 1, Vacant: 1.) and by the Senate on May 21 (Yeas: 19, Nays: 2.).
What is AB 60?
According to Nevada Electronic Legislative Information System (NELIS), AB 60 is “AN ACT relating to charities; requiring nonprofit corporations to file certain information with the Secretary of State before soliciting charitable contributions in this State; requiring the Secretary of State to provide to the public certain information concerning nonprofit corporations that solicit charitable contributions in this State; requiring the disclosure of certain information by a person conducting a solicitation for charitable contributions for or on behalf of a nonprofit corporation or other charitable organization; authorizing the imposition of penalties; and providing other matters properly relating thereto.”
This act (AB 60) becomes effective on January 1, 2014.
