In recent years most health plan compliance issues have revolved heavily around the ACA. Now that most plan sponsors are comfortable with the ACA provisions it’s a good time for a refresher on other important areas of group health plan administration.

Ms. Ellis is an ERISA attorney with over 8 years of experience advising on retirement and health and welfare employee benefit plans. Before working in the private sector, Ms. Ellis worked as a Benefits Advisor at the U.S. Department of Labor, Employee Benefits Security Administration. She has experience advising plan sponsors, plan administrators, fiduciaries and plan participants on federal laws applicable to employee benefit plans sponsored by private employers.
Ms. Ellis is a member of the Massachusetts Bar. She earned a Juris Doctor from the New England School of Law, a Master of Arts from the University of Essex, and a Bachelor of Arts from Canisius College. She also holds the “Group Benefits Associate” designation from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
Mr. Ryan is an ERISA/employee benefits attorney with over 25 years of experience, both as in-house counsel for various financial institutions and in private practice advising employer plan sponsors. He is also a member of the Colorado Bar.
