(Washington, DC) Gina Robison-Billups, the Henderson, Nevada-based Founder and CEO of the National Association for Moms in Business, was appointed April 6, 2011, to serve a three-year term on the National Women’s Business Council (NWBC), a nonpartisan federal advisory council created to serve as an independent source of advice and policy recommendations to the President, Congress, and the U.S. Small Business Administration on economic issues of importance to women business owners.

“Gina Robison-Billups is a credible and knowledgeable voice for small business owners,” said Donna A. James, Chair of the NWBC appointed by President Obama in October 2010. “She understands first-hand the unique challenges women business owners face in their journey from the start-up phase to success and significance. I look forward to working with Gina and the other women leaders of the National Women’s Business Council on the economic issues that matter most to women business owners.”

“I am very pleased that moms in business and micro-business owners finally have a seat at the table to advise the President, Congress, and the SBA via my service to the Council,” said Robison-Billups. “I am humbled by this appointment and excited to serve in a capacity which will continue to open doors for future generations of women business owners.”

Members of the NWBC are prominent women business owners and leaders of women’s business organizations. The Council’s mission is to promote bold initiatives, and review policies and programs designed to support women’s business enterprises at all stages of development in the public and private sector marketplaces.

Robison-Billups‘ work with home-based business owners and micro business owners has earned her the title of “Home Based Business Advocate“ for the state of Nevada in 2003 and she was named a national finalist for the Women’s Congress 2008 Champion for Women Award. She also serves as a member of the Advisory Committee for Southern Nevada Nonprofits for the Alliance for Nevada Non-Profits.
