Position: Part Time Transportation Scheduler

Job Summary:
Receives calls from clients and schedules transportation rides; gives information and referrals to callers; enters information into scheduling software; develops schedules for transportation, routing of volunteers. Other duties as assigned.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Answers telephone and provides information/assistance or routes caller to appropriate staff member.
- Receives calls from clients and schedules transportation using scheduling software.
- Composes and types routine correspondence and memoranda using word processing software.
- Compiles and types statistical reports including tables and text using spreadsheet software.
- Enters data and generates scheduled reports using database software.
- Makes copies, collates, and staples materials as requested.
- Establishes and maintains permanent files, retrieves files as requested.
- Performs other related duties as required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping.
- Knowledge of business communication, including style and format of letters, memoranda, minutes, and reports.
- Intermediate to advanced experience in using a computer and various software packages, including Microsoft Office, internet and database software.
- Skill to type 50 words per minute.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
- Ability to handle and resolve problems.
- Experience working with elderly clients preferred.
Minimum Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum Experience:
- Two years of progressively complex administrative office experience.
- Experience working in a call center or customer service capacity preferred.
Special Requirements:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Ability to work with frail seniors.
Analytical/Interpersonal Skills:
- Ability to understand, track, drill-down, and question activities and issues in all functional areas and make sound business decisions based upon that data.
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit for long periods of time.
- Ability to work effectively using a personal computer for long periods of time.

Job Summary:
The Volunteer Coordinator supervises volunteers and provides direction, coordination, and consultation for all volunteer functions within the agency to strengthen programs. The position is responsible for the recruitment, training, and management of volunteers to provide services in support of programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Recruit, interview and place applicants for volunteer work
- Seek out and attend recruiting events within the community to attract qualified volunteers
- Work with Board committees, corporate groups and professional associations to publicize opportunities for volunteers
- Market programs to the community, establishing and fostering network and referral contacts with other agencies and organizations
- Develop and deliver initial and refresher volunteer training sessions on a regular basis
- Obtain information and process background investigations of all volunteers
- Maintain and update volunteer records
- Maintain descriptions and schedule of volunteer opportunities
- Assist with the preparation of the Annual Volunteer Recognition event and other special functions in collaboration with other personnel
- Attends mandatory staff meetings and report on current and/or future activities as required
- Other related duties as assigned

- Knowledge of non-profit volunteer management methods and best practices
- Knowledge of modern office procedures and methods including telephone communications, office systems, and record keeping
- Experience in using a personal computer and various software packages, including Microsoft Office, database software, internet and social media
- Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives without supervision
- Ability and flexibility to attend events and work outside of traditional days/hours if needed.
- Well-developed problem solving skills to facilitate problem identification, generation of alternative solutions and adaptation to changing situations
- Ability to maintain a good working relationship with all co-workers, volunteers, and the general public
- Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills
- Requires written, verbal and organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Have excellent public speaking skills
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, social science or related field or an equivalent combination of experience.
Minimum Experience:
- Knowledge and experience dealing with frail, elderly, disabled and chronically ill clients
- At least one year of experience in management or supervision of staff and/or volunteers required
Special Requirements:
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Valid Nevada Driver’s License and Automobile Insurance required
- Clean driving record
- Ability to pass background check

- Must be able to work well with peers, clients, volunteers, and referral sources
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Other information:
- Position is temporary and grant funded through June 30, 2013 and every effort will be made to continue position beyond grant.
